rusty red gesso, conte crayon, charcoal (white and black)
(40" x 60" / 3.33 ft x 5 ft)
process: long exposure photographs with a flashlight (i love having art major friends). the resulting image is primarily one photograph (the rightmost figure is transplanted from another shot). primed the entire illustration board with red gesso, going on top of it with layers of white and black charcoal and layers of red gesso on top of that. sometimes the charcoal would be applied indirectly on a paper towel.
